Wat zijn huur- en zorgtoeslag?

Huurtoeslag is een bijdrage van de overheid voor mensen met een lage huur. Je krijgt het als je huur niet te hoog is en je inkomen laag. Zorgtoeslag is een bijdrage voor de zorgverzekering. Iedereen in Nederland moet een zorgverzekering hebben, en met zorgtoeslag wordt die goedkoper.

Beide toeslagen kun je aanvragen bij de Belastingdienst. Je doet dit online via toeslagen.nl. Het is belangrijk om de aanvraag op tijd te doen, anders mis je geld.

Hoe vraag je toeslagen aan?

Ga naar toeslagen.nl en log in met je DigiD. DigiD is een digitale handtekening die je nodig hebt voor overheidswebsites. Vraag DigiD aan als je die nog niet hebt.

Vul het formulier in. Je hebt je burgerservicenummer (BSN), je huurcontract en je zorgverzekering nodig. De Belastingdienst berekent hoeveel toeslag je krijgt. Dit hangt af van je inkomen, je vermogen en je huur of premie.

Let op: je moet toeslagen elk jaar opnieuw aanvragen. Doe dit voor 1 april van het volgende jaar. Te laat? Dan krijg je minder of geen toeslag.

Tip 1: Vraag toeslagen aan zodra je in Nederland komt wonen. Ook als je nog geen vast inkomen hebt.
Tip 2: Geef altijd je juiste inkomen door. Als je te veel toeslag krijgt, moet je dat later terugbetalen.
Tip 3: Verander je adres of inkomen? Meld dit meteen bij de Belastingdienst. Zo voorkom je problemen.
